WEAPON: SWORD & SHIELD
Sword and Shield is your trusty go-to. Newcomer-friendly but deep enough to keep battle-hardened Aces grinning, it’s uniquely built around solid defense, reliable damage, and smooth combos. Blocking reduces incoming damage, and if you’re feeling fancy, masterfully timed parries turn enemy attacks into golden opportunities for brutal counters.

These are Skills that modify the weapon mechanic (the RB button). Could be expansions to the mechanic, additional options, or even a full on change that makes it feel like something else entirely. 

  • Guard: Hold RB to Block. Damage taken while Blocking is reduced by 50%.

  • Guard II: Damage taken while Blocking is reduced by an additional 10%.

  • Perilous Guard: When at Critical HP (25% or lower), damage taken while Blocking is reduced by an additional 15%.

  • Detonating Parry: When at Critical HP (25% or lower), successfully Parrying an attack will trigger an explosion that knocks back nearby enemies.

  • Mighty Guard: Gain Might (6s) after Blocking 5 attacks. Cooldown: 12s Might: +25% DMG

  • Parry: Parry an incoming attack by pressing RB right before getting hit.

  • Mighty Parry: Gain Might (3s) after successfully Parrying an attack. Might: +25% DMG

  • Debilitating Parry: Inflict Bleed (4s) after successfully Parrying an attack. Bleed: deals medium damage twice per second

  • Shield Strike: Double tap RB to perform a Shield Strike. This attack Block Breaks.

  • Shield Surf: While Valor is active, press A while Airborne to perform a Shield Surf attack. 30% chance to inflict Bleed (4s) per hit. Bleed: deals medium damage twice per second

  • Riposte: Execute a swift counter-attack by pressing any attack button right after successfully Parrying an attack. Inflicts Bleed (4s). Bleed: deals medium damage twice per second

  • Shield Toss: While Valor is active, press LT+RB to throw the shield. This attack pulls enemies toward the Ace.

  • Valor: Activate Valor (15s) by pressing LT+RB when the Weapon Meter is full. While Valor is active, holding RB to Block will automatically Parry attacks. Additionally, any incoming damage is reduced by 50%, even when not blocking. Inflict Stun (2s) when successfully executing a Parry by pressing RB right before getting hit.

  • Blade of Valor: Replaces the 50% incoming damage reduction bonus from Valor with a 20% increase in outgoing damage. Inflict Stun (2s) when successfully executing a Parry by pressing RB right before getting hit.

  • Unyielding Valor: Increases the duration of Valor by 5 seconds. While Valor is active, successfully executing a Parry by pressing RB right before getting hit extends the duration of Valor by 3 seconds.

  • Airborne Shift: Press B while Airborne to Evade.

  • Heavy Evade Attack: Press Y after Evading to perform a Heavy Evade Attack (B,Y). Evade canceling an attack followed by a Heavy Attack will perform a unique Combo Finisher.

  • Light Evade Attack: Press X after Evading to perform a Light Evade Attack (B,X). Evade canceling an attack followed by a Light Attack will perform a unique Combo Finisher.

  • Airborne Rebound: Press A to recover after getting hit while Airborne.

  • Rising Recovery: Press A to quickly recover after getting knocked down. Pressing B will execute a Dodge Roll recovery instead.

  • Block Breaker: Hold Y to perform a Block Breaker attack.

  • Launcher: Hold X to perform a Launcher attack.

  • Rising Strike: While laying on the ground, press any attack button (X or Y) to perform a recovery attack.

y when knocked down? This is where you do it. All classes have the same Standard Moveset Skills.

These are Skills that amplify various parts of your Class. It could be related to specific combos, could add additional moves to the kit that are specific to the class (new move, variation of a move, etc). This is where a lot of build crafting comes from.

  • Eviscerating Lift: Inflict Bleed (4s) after executing the Advanced Light Combo (YXXXX). Bleed: deals medium damage twice per second

  • Bloodlust: Sword attacks deal 10% more damage againts Bleeding enemies.

  • Sanguine Burst: Heavy Combo Finisher (YYY) consumes all Bleed stacks on the enemy, triggering an explosion. Each stack of Bleed increases the explosion damage by 5%.

  • Sanguine Assault: Exploding 5 or more stacks of Bleed grants Prickly Strikes (5s) to self and all allies. Cooldown: 30s Prickly Strikes: Inflict Bleed (4s) per hit Bleed: deals medium damage twice per second

  • Last Stand: When reaching Critical HP (25% or lower), grant self and all allies Aegis and Protection (8s). Cooldown: 30s Aegis: Negates the next incoming hit Protection: Damage taken -25%

  • Vanguard: Increase DEF by 10% while Protection is active. Protection: Damage taken -25%

  • Revival Ward: Gain Aegis (9s) while Reviving an ally. Cooldown: 10s Aegis: Negates the next incoming hit

  • Guardbreaker: Shield attacks deal +15% Break Bar DMG.

  • Shield Bash: Shield attacks have a 6% chance to inflict Stun (2s). Stun: Prevents movement and action

  • Guardian’s Rebound: Automatically Parry incoming enemy attacks while using Shield Attacks.

  • Shatter-bash: Inflict Weakness (5s) after executing the Advanced Heavy Combo (XYYY). Weakness: -25% DMG

Every weapon boasts a roster of high-impact techniques that consume Focus, a meter earned through skillful play. Equip any two outside combat, then unleash them mid-fight to redefine the encounter. Mixing and matching these abilities lets you tailor burst damage, crowd control, or mobility to the mission at hand.

  • Light Focus

    • Dashing Skewer: Press LT+X to lunge forward, dealing damage to enemies and inflicting Bleed (4s). Break Bar DMG: Low

    • Radiant Guard: Press LT+X to raise the shield, emitting a burst of light and inflicting Stun (3s) on nearby enemies. This attack is Unblockable and can be used while Airborne. Break Bar DMG: High

    • Reeling Spin: Press LT+X to spin in place 3 times, pulling in all nearby enemies and dealing damage. Break Bar DMG: Low

  • Heavy Focus

    • Steady Strikes: Press LT+Y to execute a quick flurry of 7 slashes, dealing damage and staggering enemies hit. This attack can be used while Airborne. Break Bar DMG: High

    • Shield Rush: Press LT+Y to charge forward with the shield raised, striking all enemies in the path. This attack Block Breaks and can be used while Airborne. Break Bar DMG: High

    • Crownbreaker: Press LT+Y to leap up and drive the shield into the ground. Deals damage and Launches surrounding enemies. This attack can be used while Airborne. Break Bar DMG: High
