    • Hard
    • *Brutal
  • *After completing the Campaign, Brutal can be selected for any mission using your current gear and progression. Expect familiar encounters – boss fights, Ventures, and Bounties – to hit much harder. New endgame bounties played on Brutal serve as a benchmark for how strong your build truly is
  • On Hard and Brutal, Elite enemies have a chance to become Vanguards, dangerous leaders that empower nearby foes
    • Spot the Vanguard and eliminate the threat to cancel enemy buffs
    • Fallen Vanguards drop a pickup that grants temporary buff yourself and your party, turning the tide in your favor.
  • Starting a new save and conquering Brutal from the beginning is where this mode truly shines:
    • Enemies use the most aggressive AI behaviors, with expanded kits and surprises (watch out for cluster bombs)
    • Harder hits, tougher fights, and more demanding environments including new enemy spawners and hazard scenarios
    • Multiple Lieutenants teaming up within single encounters
